Enjoying Santander

We didn’t have too far to drive this morning to the ferry terminal in Santander, so we got there in good time to get checked in and we’re allowed to leave the Duke in line and wander off to have some lunch. We eventually settled on this little restaurant that had some good reviews and sat at the outdoor tables until the kitchen opened. The food was all delicious and served very promptly by very friendly waiters.
This is David eating the ham croquettes that were our appetizer. I had fresh anchovies with salad and David chose the black Iberico pork cheeks washed down with a glass of the house Rioja wine. The desserts were a light baked cheesecake and a regional Rice pudding.
Then we got back in time to board our ferry - the “Galicia” and explore our new surroundings - the first time in 5 weeks that we haven’t slept in our cosy bed in the Duke, so I hope it’s as comfortable!
The room has 2 sets of bunk beds, so we opted for the bottom bunks, avoiding having to use the step ladders to climb into bed.
We have taken our anti-sea sickness tablets but I’m still feeling a little queasy and there’s only a slight swell! Hope it doesn’t get worse!

The internet is an issue on board so this is going to be quick!
