Autumn Walk - longer variant

The autumn is the time we re-establish our walking habits. In the summer we go on other sorts of trips, or work in the garden so often walks don't happen.  Anyway, today we did "the long walk", a circle of about 10kms on small and forest roads. It was tougher than usual because, for the first 4 kms a large machine had basically dug up the top few centimetres of road and left it loose and muddy. Hard work to walk on.  There were plenty of signs this is only stage 1 of a bigger repair job so hopefully the track will return to better condition.
The day was fairly cloudy so the autumn colours were a little more muted than they have been but we still felt we were walking through a very beautiful world.
