Wild Waves

I deliberately chose the same title as Jan used for her blip - it seemed perfect for today.
The wind was really strong and blowing from the south-east and it created big swells, which in turn gave good surf on the beaches and spectacular explosions of white water where the swells smashed into the cliffs.
We walked to the caves but there was no way we could climb round into the sea level cave. The rock is very smooth and falling into the white water just wasn't an option. The ledge just above the cave was dry but as we stood there I made sure I had an arm hooked over a rock, just in case an extra big wave chose that moment to climb the cliff.
I've added an extra, a photo taken by Charl, showing the terrain near the cave. In the background you can see a wave or two sweeping over the rocks.
