Carol's ramblings

New home

Up as usual, Caleb arrived and then the school run.

Back home, to take the car seat out, then collected my sister before arriving at AJs care home. She was having her breakfast, decided she would keep out of our way". Sad times for her, but realistic :)

Hubby and I loaded my car with furniture/large items while my sister packed all other items. Trip to the new care home to start putting the furniture in. Slight issue in that the electrical items have all been PAT tested but as the television is the only one that has a date for next check on, means this is the only thing that can be plugged in. Also, as the room was not registered with Royal Mail, Openreach would not be able to fulfil the phone move - this was resolved today as Royal Mail confirmed the address, but the phone move isn’t until 22nd (the earliest they can do the job). Having cleared the room (4 trips in total), collected a quick lunch then back to collect AJ. :)

Arrived at the new care home, PCR test carried out and then to AJs room (where she will stay until the PCR test is back). It will take a while to orientate, lighting may need to be looked at and one issue is that AJ has been used to having a pendant button (to push when she needs), but they don’t have that facility. Expressed concern for a severely sighted person not to have instant access to alert support - they are going to monitor hourly during the initial period until AJ feels more settled. :)

It felt like leaving your child for the first time at school ………. I’m sure all will be ok. …. :)
