Creeping Thyme

I grew a lot of creeping thyme from seed in the Spring to use between the stepping stones in the wild garden. I had lots left over, so after I’d planted a couple of new shrubs in tubs, I planted some creeping thyme around them. So far the thyme has grown much more than the shrubs and much more than the thyme in the wild garden! The blue tit is back roosting in the camera nest box overnight, lovely to see. I chased up about why I’m on the list of clinically vulnerable for an early Covid top up jab. The list is evidently compiled ‘higher up’ in the NHS, but a GP reviewed it and can see no reason for it, so concluded it’s an admin error.

Day 577 / Day 88 of Step 4 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
82% of areas in the UK have seen a rise in Covid cases. There were 45,066 new cases today, the highest since mid July (the Euros!). The rate of Covid is currently highest among 10-19 year olds. Lateral Flow Tests have been found to be 90% effective at detecting Covid in people at their most infectious, and 80% effective at detecting any level of infection. A senior public health official says leaving home with Covid symptoms should be as socially unacceptable as drink driving. Over 5,000 had to wait over 12 hours in A&E in Sept in England. The NHS saw the busiest Sept on record. 9,754 people have been waiting for over two years for routine hospital treatment at the end of Aug, with 5.7m waiting to start routine hospital treatment.
