An ordinary life....

Tomato and orange...

from lentil and ham?

Hahahaha....that will only make sense to Scottish blippers who remember this television advert from the dim and distance past :-)

My first task of the day was to make lentil and ham soup for lunch tomorrow with Ele and Agnes.  I looked out all the ingredients except when I went to the veg cupboard I realised I had forgotten to buy potatoes!  Doh! Luckily I had all the ingredients for my festive soup, tomato and orange, so made that instead!  Phew!

The rest of the day was spent on many little tasks that took up lots of time!

Firstly chasing personal hygiene supplies for Alan that should have been delivered last week (told Thursday delivery) I tried countless times yesterday but couldn't get through.  I tried 12 times today and was demented listening to that phone muzak!  My call was finally answered on the lucky-for-me 13th attempt.  Apparently they were out of stock of the item and will deliver this Thursday.  I was told this very matter of factly - oh they just came in on Friday.  I was livid and pointed out that these are not luxury items but absolute necessities to Alan's health and well being.  Surely a call notifying us of the delay would have been in order?!  Fortunately after years of experience we had ordered back up supplies from Amazon, but she didn't know that.  I eventually got an apology.  Sigh.

The rest of the day I have been planning a Halloween party for Anna, Faith and Esme on Sunday.  This involves decorations, games, prizes, food, dressing up...I am exhausted thinking about it.

I then did meal planning for next week when S & L and the girls are staying with us and got my Tesco order done.  An ex work colleague is coming for lunch on Monday so got my menu for that done.  Pumpkin picking organised for next Wednesday,  and trying to fit in some practice of the things I learned on the photoshop course before the second part starts on Sunday!  And I had to make my own dinner!!!

Come back David, all is forgiven!!!
