Three Layers

Layer one: the water surface and the log and algae.
Layer two: the reflection of the background trees.
Layer three: the bottom of the inlet with the leaves and twigs.

Although my initial interest was the leaf colour, I decided to focus on the algae covered log and glass like surface of the water, leaving the oranges and yellows in the background. Only afterwards I discovered I could see the bottom as well.

An unusual combination of sunlight, colour in the trees, open water in the right place and calm wind (which did fluctuate). Shots with smaller apertures to show the background leaves were too chaotic.
