Life is a Challenge!

More Service with a Smile :-)

John had finished all his library books so a trip to the library was on our itinerary for today. Of course, we went on the bus - when you have Mature People's Travel Passes - free bus travel for those who don't know - why would you take the car and pay for parking?

It was very cold again, although the sun was out, but the sneaky wind was still about - and if CreativeCarol is reading this, no, we didn't stop and listen to it - it was too cold for that!

We decided to have a coffee first so went to one of our favourite cafes in the town centre, Strozzi Cafe, run by a husband and wife team, Chris, who is half Italian/half Romanian and Diana, who is Romanian. We had a wonderful latte, served with a smile by Diana but passed on having the "all day breakfast". However, when the smell of bacon cooking wafted over, we were sorely tempted. We even resisted having one of Diana's delicious cakes.

This young couple, who live about 30 miles away and travel in every day, have worked really hard since they opened in April 2012 and deserve to have a successful business. So what is the reason for their success? They remember their customers, are always happy to see them and greet them with a smile and a few kind words. What a difference that makes to a day!

Mother Teresa once said:

"Everytime you smile at someone,
it is an action of love,
a gift to that person,
a beautiful thing."

How many people have you smiled at today?
