The Samuel

Inspired by freespiral’s The Tailors of Taste in Cork, I had another attempt at this slightly off-centre mosaic in a doorway on King St. Its history is unknown - not the name of the late Victorian row of shops with flats above, or any former business I could find.

It does reflect the day though, a bit shabby. When whiskey seems a good way to round off the evening, it’s a sign to stop.

Thanks for hosting Marlieske.

Update: The building was owned by Samuel Hordern of Anthony Hordern & Sons, the famous Haymarket department store, now long gone.
