Blue skies and autumn foliage

Today was such a beautiful day that Jean and I decided to leave this morning and make a whole day's outing. We travelled on various forms of public transport: bus, metro and two trains to get to where we wanted to go! The journey took one hour and forty minutes! We had lunch out in a simple auberge and then set of walking for nearly two hours.

The name of our destination is St-Cergue and is at an altitude of 1.041 metres.

The wooded areas were gorgeous (see extra), but the blue sky had my vote for the main shot because of that blue sky and the contrast of the evergreens with the autumn colours.

The high of the day was 15C/59F.  I believe it will gradually cool a little next week.

After a long journey home, we are both feeling quite tired and it will be an early night tonight!
