Easter Recess

I had a meeting in my Ministerial office in St Andrew's House
early this morning - the last Parliamentary sitting day before the Easter recess.

The view was snowy everywhere I looked as there had been another fresh fall overnight.

This is a close up of what I could see to the south east of Edinburgh though you would be hard pressed to recognise it given the white that covers everything.

A very odd Maundy Thursday, when usually Spring is at least in prospect.

And as it would have been my mother's 93rd birthday it was also strange to reflect how different it is to get to this time of year with winter still holding us firmly in its grip.
