A lovely day for the Tuesday walk. But when I got to the meeting point it turned out the leader had had to cancel at the last minute. There were a dozen of us though, so M spontaneously volunteered to lead. We didn't know the walk N had planned, so he took us on a fairly gentle 8 km along the Canal du Midi and then to this rather palatial wine domain with its own private chapel -- go large to see the gargoyles. The rest of the walk involved a wander through the woods, which was nice as I was getting sunburnt.

The walk took a couple of hours -- back in town I did some errands, and just had time to get home, change, and go out again for the weekly pizza appointment. Ingrid, S, R and I made an anglophone corner outside. There was a small crisis when it turned out no-one but me had pre-ordered pizza, and the waiting list was full until 9 pm. It was fine though, we shared mine along with a couple of bottles of wine, and chatted until the others were ready. Concerned friends kept coming out of the bar asking us if we weren't freezing to death. We genuinely weren't, but in the end we did join them inside for a short while, before retreating chez moi to finish the bottle(s).
