the scar — two years on
the pain has not receded
still I learn to walk

Knowing the alternative would have been a wheelchair for life, I'm still very glad I had that operation in July 2019. I'm walking better and better, I still get tired easily so I can't walk very long, and not without a stick in most cases, but it is an upward slope, so I try to look at what's better on a daily basis, rather than lament that it is taking some time. I liked it when a lady in my choir group, who was inquiring about how I was and what had happened to me, said "oh! it's not been long" when I told her I had been operated two years ago.
