Nicky and her Nikon

What weather!

I woke up to lashing rain this morning - not unexpected, as the forecast for today was for heavy rain throughout the day. However it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day with bright blue skies, you never know what the weather will be like these days.

After breakfast Gavin and I went to Norbury Park for a walk with Xena - it was still raining when we started our walk, and by the time we finished almost 2 hours later it was sunny and bright. We were delighted to find an enterprising couple in the middle of the woods serving coffees from their converted Landover - they had a proper commercial espresso coffee machine, a tiny hand basin with running water, a fridge for the milks - two oat milk cappuccinos please and surprisingly they were excellent!

After the rain we got some incredible light, which I tried to capture here - and then the sky cleared and it was so blue, it was hard to believe that it had been raining shortly before.

I made butternut soup for lunch and then fetched Gavin from the tyre garage where he had dropped off the other car to have winter tyres fitted, in readiness for driving to Switzerland after Christmas. It may not happen, we will see what the Covid situation is like then and hopefully more of the Swiss will also be vaccinated by then.

I spent some time this afternoon learning about all the new features in the Camera Raw and Photoshop update - such exciting new changes with clever masking, I am looking forward to using them in my workflow.

A quiet evening at home tonight, Thai take away and Netflix.
