We went to Wyncliff Quarry today as it had been raining for much of the night and we thought the rock there might dry fairly quickly.

It was hard. I'm not much used to sports climbing, and haven't been a fan of what I've sampled in the UK, although I've loved it abroad. In the UK bolted routes are found mostly in former quarries and they're vertical, strenuous and very different from the trad climbing that I'm used to. But I suspect that if I did it more I'd like it better.

A pint in a pub on the way back to the youth hostel and then it was my turn to cook!
