Coming Through!

Relaxing day today. I, and Mrs I, made full use of the extra hour and sat in bed, drinking a cuppa and listening to the rain thrashing down outside.

Stuff me sideways with a rag man's trumpet, it poured, and poured, and it poured.

Then, like the parting of the Red Sea (Exodus 14), it stopped. The sun came out and all was well with the world.

Except the little matter of the flood in the garage.... Ho hum, it doesn't matter. It's only a bit of water..(Genesis 6:1-11 :32)  I cleaned and mopped out the garage, safe in the knowledge that The Lord said after the Great Flood he would never punish mankind's disobedience again with flooding. Interestingly I noted, on Countryfile tonight that the residents of Fairbourne in North Wales are faced with having their whole village raised to the ground and being forced to relocate due to the unsustainable costs of flood defences..

Anyhoo, whilst Mrs I did the holiday shopping I took Hollie dog out for a fabulous two hour training run in preparation for her first trip to the Lake District. Four months since her 'leg saving' surgery, we have gradually built up the exercise regime and she is doing fine, loving the wide open spaces and running freely, with no obvious side effects. Here she is practising her 'walking on water' routine.. (Mathew 14:22-33).. It didn't quite pan out but she loved every second of it.

No offence intended with the reference to the scriptures. I am a Christian, but just not a very good one. My saving grace is that God clearly has a sense of humour. Why else would we have Eastenders, politicians and patio heaters...

Off to The Lakes tomorrow. Packing's done. Shopping's done. House sitters are in place. Papers cancelled. What could possibly go wrong...

Watch this space....

Addendum... Looks like a big birthday today.. A year of blipping. Proud of that, proud of you lot too, thanks for being there, it' s been fun!
