Hazel Catkins

We spent the morning with our daughter at Junction32 outlet - supping coffee and shopping! Now that the youngest granddaughter is at nursery / childminder three days a week, she is enjoying her ‘child free’ days (especially if she has not been on shift the night before!)

I popped out for a walk mid afternoon…and noticed that the hazel catkins (male flowers) have emerged. Using the little camera and built in flash I managed to get a reasonable shot - plenty of trial and error with the settings was involved! I managed to get some light on the ‘autumn leaves’ behind, just enough to show them up.

The female flowers should appear early in the new year.
