Waiting at the school gates

Social distancing has not disappeared from the queue outside Eben's school gates as yet.
I try to arrive with a little time in hand each Weds, when I pick him up and take him to his 4 pm swimming lesson. We all wait patiently, and then spread ourselves out in the allotted part of the playground, as each class is led out in turn. Nursery classes first, then Reception and then Year One - Eben's year. By this point, the distancing has usually broken down and there is a bit of a melee as excited 5 year olds rush to greet their (usually) welcoming adult.
With fragments of COP26 news reports flitting across my mind today, I couldn't help wondering - what will all these little ones be dealing with in 25 years' time?
