Life, not as we see it.

Around Beauly, Highlands.

Here for a couple of nights away, to celebrate someone reaching three score and ten, today.
It was a bit like Christmas morning: 08:00 she's up and opening pressies, wrapings flying everywhere.
After breakfast (Finnan Haddie for me) we set out for a 5 mile circular walk, partly along the banks of the river Beauly, and adjacent woodland.
So peaceful and beautiful.
Saw a ?????? of swans flying south. 15 of them in a long line.  What is the collective noun for such a gathering?
Drove to Strathpeffer for some lunch - Cullen Skink hit the spot so smoked haddock twice already today, and fish again this evening.
Extras:- part of the walk and the lumpy 200 yo sycamore tree at the entrance to Beauly Priory ruins.
