A Busy and Gorgeous Day!

This morning the botanical garden president (Sean Hogan) and I did a presentation to a wonderful group called First Saturday PDX. They have met on the first Saturday of every month for 20 years! Now it's virtual of course. They focus on learning about Chinese arts, history and culture and were the group involved at the very beginning of building the Lan Su Chinese Garden in Portland. Sean was deeply involved in the formation of that garden so has known these folks since those days. So when they found out  about Sean's vision of building a botanical garden in Portland, they asked us to present. We did a 90 minute presentation/Q&A followed by a virtual hour-long "tea" where I met with a dozen lovely people who were so supported and fascinated by the garden. Great fun, but I was tired when all was said and done!

So sister Barb took me to lunch at a beautiful spa called Ojo Santa Fe. They have a lovely restaurant called Blue Heron where we had a terrific (and healthy) lunch. Following lunch we wandered around the property. The cottonwoods were simply astounding contrasting with the brilliant blue sky.
