The Return of Green

It is amazing how quickly everything turns green after the rain. The fields are all covered in bright green velvet, and the stones and tree trunks have a new coat of moss. Tender young ferns are unfurling beneath the trees. Spike didn't notice any of this as he tore around, nose in the air, on a mission of his own. The bullrushes are now surrounded by a goodly amount of water and he availed himself of a swim, probably in search of the frogs which were making themselves known.

Our zoom Pilates classes are coming to an end at the end of the month. However, we are being lured back into the studio with the promise of a 'no standing or kneeling on a moving carriage' equipment class. I'm pleased that they are working hard to accommodate those of increasing years and decreasing balance!

I seem to be measuring my days in 'squares completed.' Today got off to a better start on the quilt front, but wound up being only a one square day because David and Greg arrived to put the finishing touches on the barn doors and a shelf in the closet. David left Greg to it while he went out and cleared the gutters of acorns. When he came back in and spotted the axe on the floor (I had noticed it too) he muttered, 'I love that the finish carpenter shows up with an axe’. I said it didn't exactly seem relevant to the job at hand. 

Demolition of our guest bathroom is scheduled to begin next Monday. David pointed out that it would mean that one bathroom would be out of commission for Thanksgiving, but not wanting to have any more postponements, we said that we would cope. Maybe we can have Thanksgiving at Dana and Jim's house. But it sounds like they may have one bathroom out of commission also. 

John said 'we' meaning I assume he meant  we men, 'can always pee outside...
