Autumnal colours

A good day, with pretty good progress on most if not all fronts.

First thing, we headed to the wilds of west Edinburgh for Mr A to get his booster jab. Job done, although not an easy place to find (Sighthill Health Centre). I do wonder whether the fact that there places they are doing vaccinations now are generally not very accessible will reduce the attendance rate once they start boosting large numbers of people who are neither vulnerable nor of pensionable age. But unlike others at Ingliston recently, he didn’t have to wait at all. At home, a big job was finalised to the point of 99.9%. Just one or two last things to check, but otherwise I am content. In the afternoon, I attended a teaching and learning meeting which was quite interesting. People seem keen to hear what I have to say these days. I wonder why that is ;-)

Our decorator arrived in the morning, and made good progress largely on preparation works during the day in the bedroom and bathroom. It is going to look good when it’s done. Roll on the weekend, when we should be able to move back. It’s not that we’ve slept badly in the spare room. In fact, it is very quiet and now very dark since we fiddled with the curtain arrangements. But it takes Mr A’s study out of commission, so now he has his iMac set up on the dining room table, which is also sub optimal. This is not a large enough flat that you can afford to lose a room!

At lunchtime, I loaded up my ears with earbuds and went out to walk and simultaneously listen to a very good staff seminar on sexual history evidence and using research to affect policy, and also get a blip. Now that’s what I can multi-tasking. Exercise, intellectual stimulation and a daily photo, all in a single package. I topped off my exercise with a relaxing 30 minutes on the spinning bike just before dinner.

Mr A seems fine after his vaccination. Perhaps a little tired. It was Moderna this time!

Pilrig House is looking good with autumn colours juxtaposed.
