A Day In The Life

Double or Nothing

After a quick trip to the Post Office we stopped by The Boat Landing to nose around.  The wind was blustery making 42 feel much colder than expected. We were definitely underdressed and another layer would have made our visit much more pleasant. Seagulls were plentiful and as noisy as ever.  Perhaps they didn't like the cold either.  Only one double-crested cormorant was in view on the river, and not too far from the edge.  I was happy to frame him with a portion of the winterberry bush growing onshore * Tonight we will be wrapping up the sixth and final season of The Sopranos.  In preparation we stopped off at the store to buy a bottle of wine after mambo's recommendation yesterday.  Rather than Italian, we selected a label we've seen before but have not tried, and it fit perfectly with our Mob Pasta Night: 19 Crimes Red Blend.  On tonight's menu is rigatoni with veggie meatballs and gravy aka tomato sauce, plus a garden salad * We have mixed emotions about seeing the show come to an end.  As much as we're looking forward to moving on to something else, we're sad to say goodbye to this crazy, dysfunctional NJ family.  The good news is the prequel "The Many Saints of Newark" will be released in DVD/Blu-ray December 21st :)
