White-eared honeyeater

Out of the basic and overheated hotel room and having had a nice coffee and simple breakfast in a cafe, we headed off to Trisharooni's to pick her up on the way to Anvil Rock and Wind Eroded Cave. The ground there was prolific with flannel flowers, the air was still and the views over the Grose Valley spectacular.

This little bird, weighing about 20g, flitted about in the scrubby trees and followed us, in the hope of our stirring up some insects, which, along with spiders and nectar, it eats.

The extra is a full view of the same bird.

Thanks for hosting Greg.
