In the Garden With Eden

In the Garden WIth Eden
The Garden Veranda moved on to near completion today. The electrician arrived and got to work wiring up the three blinds.
A couple of problems. The remote control for the blinds was not in the box so he has arranged for one to be ordered from Germany, should be with us in a few weeks. As we have two side blinds and the top blind we need a multichannel remote control. He had a single channel one in his van so he has programmed it to operate the top blind and not the sides.
Second problem is that the front blind juddered. This means that the tensioning wires need to be adjusted by the fitters.
The blinds are manufactured by Eden Verandas, hence the title of todays daily journal post.
As a footnote. This is 'Varanda #04' since we moved Haddenham in 2007. Sue and I love being outside but in the shade. Our garden is South Facing.
In 2008 we bought a large parasol for the patio. but not big enough when we had friends and family.
Then I put up a frame with pull out blinds. It until we had some strong winds that took the cover and its frame completely down even though it was folded away.
Then we installed some very nice wind out ones. The previous steel framed one was 3.5m x 3.0m. This new one was 2.5m x 2.5m and proved to be as useful as a chocolate tea pot for me to sit out and enjoy being in the garden.
Earlier this year a brochure came through the door and I started looking at it and said to Sue 'This is what we need'. She agreed and now we have a 4m x 3m varanda with front and side blinds.
I know its November but at some point soon, when the blinds are working and its a sunny day I will be eating Al Fresco.
