Light and Shade

Once you get behind with Blip - or anything in life - it’s hard to catch up, so today’s another backblip. Apologies for brief comments - and the lack of hearts. It’s always a problem when you’re covering a few days worth of journals! And thanks so much for the comments, hearts and stars for Thursday’s shipwreck blip.

We leave behind the marshy flats of Lancashire and head north for a quick visit to The Lakes - well Cartmel to be precise. The weather’s overcast and damp, but as we drive our scenic route around Windermere and Coniston, there are tiny patches of blue sky in the east, and sunlight starts to paint the shadowed hills in brighter colours - the contrasts somehow more beautiful than if the sun was constant.

Further along, we drive past a small lake - I think it may be Yew Tree Tarn - and even without sun the reflections are perfect.

So lake or hills? It’s an impossible choice. In the end I go for the sun on distant hills, but I’m really not sure whether it should be Yew Tree Tarn …..
