Christmas in November

We’d been watching the weather forecast all week and things weren’t optimistic. Whilst there was a possibility of sunshine during the day, come the evening, the rain was due to return. In reality, it is crisp and dry as we walk in velvety rural darkness from our delightful Airbnb Coach House to Dunham Massey.

This is our family Christmas celebration - unseasonably early, but we’re taking advantage of being together for yesterday’s wedding. I’m weighed down by the feeling of not doing enough to make things festive in the cottage; no lights, decorations or even crackers - and we’ve made a mutual decision not to exchange presents this year. Of course, the wedding has diverted all of us, and I’ve been particularly preoccupied by photographs, but it’s impossible not to feel Christmassy when we arrive at the Light Trail. Christmas music and magical light concepts make us smile like little kids! Installations vary from enchanted forests of illuminated snowflakes, chandeliers and thistle down, to dancing lasers and neon string structures. It is certainly busy - this first weekend of the season is obviously popular - and it’s undeniably not cheap, but it’s definitely worth it for our early Christmas celebration! And of course, I’m not sure what too blip, so I’ve added in some extras!

Still back-blipping, and still catching up with journals! Apologies for lack of comments - and paucity of hearts. One day’s supply is definitely not enough when you’ve fallen behind by several days.

Thanks so much for your positive - and encouraging - comments on the small selection of my wedding shots from yesterday (Friday). I’m still editing so the bride and groom have yet to see them, but I do hope they’ll be pleased!
