Wound up in Wexford

The "oak" pond

The disadvantage of having a large oak tree in the garden.

This was the state of the upper area of our pond this morning.  We had laid some netting over the rill, so it was relatively easy to clear.  But this area of the pond needed multiple strokes with a rake, and then at the end with a net to get the last few leaves.  Meanwhile W raked up two large bags full of leaves from the nearest areas of grass.

And there are still a lot of leaves on the oak tree - this will need repeating in another week or so - at which time (if it isn't freezing) I will probably don waders and also clear much of the overgrown weeds and pond plants from the farther end of the pond.
