WERTHERS

Stayed at home today until it was time to go to slimming group.  I " made " three sets of free standing shelves and a hanging bird feeder. Two of the shelves are plastic and just needed slotting together.  The other shelves are wood/metal but had pre-drilled screw holes - and came complete with a screw driver.  The bird feeder is wooden with pre-drilled holes.  They all fitted together OK - but it took me quite a while to do all 4 of them.  I put the bird feeder outside and added some seed.  I put two of the shelving units in the bathroom and filled them with shampoo, shower gel etc.  The third set of shelves was supposed to go on a kitchen bench but its too tall to go under the wall cupboards.... should have measured first!.  So I'm trying to figure out where to put it.

Had a wander down to slimming this evening.  Lost another half pound.  Thats 4 weeks in a row I've lost half a pound.  At least I'm losing something -  and every little helps.

For Tiny Tuesday I decided to blip one of the treats I had this evening.  A little Werthers butter candy.  I buy the sugar free variety which are just as nice as the ordinary ones. These candies are named after the little village of Werther in Westphalia, Germany where the company was founded in 1903.  Thanks to Sheol for hosting Tiny Tuesday.

My granddaughter Astrid is 4 months old today.  To mark the occasion Im adding a collage as an Extra.  She's growing up fast.

* Update on Neil's challenge.  He set off from Carlisle at 7.30am.  and ran 28 miles taking around 5 hours.  He found the going tough and had to walk part of the way.  He was looking forward to reaching Hexham where he was going to reward himself with a Greggs Festive Bake.

Then another 18½ miles .  However he has had to " abort " as Google maps have been taking him along unsafe routes such as the hard shoulder of the A69 single carriageway and along some dark unlit B roads.  So he had to come home for the night.  He will start again tomorrow in Hexham after finding some safer routes to get himself home.  He wasn't too keen on having to stop but its best to stay safe.

A few blippers have asked for the link to Neil's JustGiving page so HERE it is.  Any donations will be gratefully received.  The total at the moment is £520.
