Cloister

... derived from the Latin verb claudere, meaning "to close."  In modern usage it is a covered passage usually having one side walled and the other an open arcade or colonnade. It is more usually an area within a monastery or convent to which the closed community of monks or nuns are normally restricted.

Having seen BobBlips' Wide Wednesday Challenge of "Close", I immediately thought of the cloister at Watt's Chapel, and thought this might be a good opportunity to try out the fisheye lens on the "new" camera.  If I was lucky, the chapel might even be open ... which indeed it was (extra).

The fisheye lens gave an interesting image.  The lens is actually designed for a Canon crop sensor camera, but I was using the full frame R6 with the mount adapter.  Normally, this would auto-crop, but as this is a totally manual 8mm lens the camera stayed on full frame mode, and by removing the lens hood gave this almost full circle image.
