Magical Day

The dreadful weather from Storm Arwen last night thank fully didn’t impede the family travelling from the SW and in fact they  arrived before midnight, a first!

We opened the curtains first thing and Eda was overjoyed to see snow covering the garden. She went out as soon as she was dressed and she and Daddy built Olaf the snow man.

The main excitement though was still to come. After lunch we headed over the moor to Oxenhope Station to catch the Elf Express. The girls were both given elf hats but Eda already had her rudolf antlers on. Lots to see before we even set off but the blip picture shows the two girls just enjoying the experience of being on the train. We slowed for a tunnel just before pulling into Keighley (Kringle Town) and the inside of the tunnel was an array of colourful lights, very magical.

At Kringle Town we were greeted by lots of elves and then Santa himself, they all came to our individual compartment.
The girls got presents and there were lots of other treats for us all along the way including a very welcome mulled wine and mince pie for we adults before our return train journey to Oxenhope.
The KWVR is run by volunteers and they pulled out all the stops today, well done to them.

We arrived back just as the sun was going down,  it was absolutely freezing but Eda still enjoyed a star jump in the snow!
What a great day we’ve all had, so lovely to share it with our special girls.
