The second half of life..

Raindrops on red leaves.....

....but no whiskers on kittens...sorry.  Minnie is a bit big now to call her a kitten.

As expected, the rain arrived yesterday evening and hung around in a niggly, not-quite-wet-but-definitely-damp sort of a way.  These raindrops were captured this morning resting peacefully on a few leaves of a small smoke tree (cotinus) I have in a pot.

Day otherwise spend catching up on a few domestic chores, though not the ones I really need to do!  They can wait a bit longer I think ;)

In COVID news, there were 144 new community cases reported today; 82 people are in hospital and 8 in ICU.  Sadly, another death was reported today.

The 'Nu' variant which has been officially named Omicron is causing growing concern globally.  (Omicron?  We're still reining Delta in!  I was surprised to read just how many variants have developed and passed largely under our radar)  It has already reached beyond South Africa and has been identified in Australia, Europe, UK, Israel, Hong Kong.  Let's hope it turns out to be all bluster and no bite but somehow, I doubt it will.
