Quod oculus meus videt

Across the Field

Went out early for a walk in bitterly cold conditions.  As the sun rose the landscape warmed, but it did nothing to improve the temperatures and it stayed cold all day.

On our later walk we were saddened to see a dead swan in the local canal.  Walking conditions weren't easy as the slushy snow of the previous day had frozen, making underfoot conditions difficult.

I liked how the sun had lit this tree, which I have often photographed in the past.  I've also added an extra from the same area, which gives some idea of the temperature of the light first thing.
