The "First" for a Change....

I've been posting many "last" flowers lately, and now I have a First for a change!

It was a lovely day - a high of 61F/16.1C today - sunny this morning followed by partly cloudy this afternoon. We went on a good long hike on the trail that goes around the Hoyt Arboretum. It's called the Wildwood Trail and if you open up the map you can see that it (the blue trail) starts in the Arboretum and goes around a long loop, where we walked today...about an hour....and then winds its way through Forest Park for 29.5 miles (map here if you're interested) which we declined to do today ;-) But a gorgeous 3 mile hike through beautiful old growth forest.

Then to the garden! Still cutting back and cleaning up, although some things (like the Pineapple Sage) are still blooming because of the mild weather. I would love a mild winter...fingers crossed.

And here is the FIRST Camellia sasanqua 'Yuletide' which I have never seen bloom this early in my garden (elsewhere yes). And the peas are still blooming in the veggie garden, although the peas themselves are looking a bit iffy...the blossoms are lovely!

Hope you've all had lovely weekends!
