Common Enchantments

Friends forever

Today I had lunch with these ladies..next me are Peggy (in the rear) Jan (hostess) Shirley, Melody, Janice and Betsy.   All retired from the electric cooperative except for Janice and Peggy.  Peggy now works for a different electric cooperative in a management level but she is still part of our family.  Most of us here started to work together in 1977 or 78 so we basically grew up together.     We are missing Nancy, who was actually at her class at the university where is will graduate in a few weeks with a degree in Visual Art and Design.   She has been working on lithographs and collagraphs..whatever they are!      So proud of her to be getting a college degree in her 60s!

As usual Jan had fabulous food starting with a spinach salad with walnuts, kiwi, raspberries and strawberries in a really good viniagrette.  I asked her for the recipe and she said she just made it up as she went.  This was followed by hot spicy apples, pears and peaches with nutmeg, then a hot chicken salad that was baked with potato chip topping.   A Key Lime cake slice for dessert.   As usual we ate too much.   It is always so good!    And the table was wonderful with her Christmas dishes, flowers and decorations.

Melody, Peggy and I helped with the clean up and then we talked for 2 more hours!    It was a great afternoon!     I love these ladies!
