Sunshine

Sunshine and blue sky briefly illuminated the trees along the banks of the Spey during our morning walk to Inverallan Kirkyard. Encouragingly, the alders are already showing stubby embryonic catkins which give the twigs a purplish tinge.

In the Kirkyard we saw that there had been some storm damage to the surrounding trees so that their was a litter of twigs and small branches.

Fortunately the cross slab and symbol stone are both undamaged.

The extra shows a previously unnoticed winged soul staring benignly from the end of a collapsed table stone.

As an added bonus to a rewarding day I later glimpsed a stoat clad in ermine dash across the path ahead of me.
