Fabulous Rich

A very peopley day...time with the English Speaking church guys first thing. I was sat with a man who grew up in Zimbabwe, or Rhodesia as it was then. He shared such fascinating stories from his life...and such interesting insights into Southern Africa. I went from there to see Rich and photograph him as he wanted updated images for his website. We last did photos about 2 years ago and I think he's squeezed every possible drop of use out of them! Seeing as he moves to the UK on Saturday morning we needed to work quickly! I always love spending time with this guy, today was no different. This is actually the Courthouse he's sat outside.
Home to excited kids who'd got back to discover their advent colouring packs and new felt tips to go with it. They were actually home late from school as Danny had been summoned to take someone to hospital pretty quick sharp (thankfully later discovered all was fine). Nate had napped in the car so we're nervous about how the night will go, eeek!
This month we're going to read though the book of Luke (24 chapters, 1 per day), I'd thrown it out on facebook and all sorts of people were keen to join in...such a crazy mix of folks (and a few blippers!) but I'm looking forward to sharing this next month together reading through Jesus' life. If anyone wants to join in, send me an email (address in my bio) and I'll add you in, you don't need to be a Christian, we have a complete range of people...should be good!
Favourite quote from today's advent reading with the kids;
Miracles happen whenever we speak words that make souls stronger. Miracles happen whenever we look for shoots of Jesus' love everywhere - because this grows deep roots in Jesus' love for everyone. Miracles happen in the drawing close to the little people, the least people, the lonely people, the lost people - because this is drawing close to Jesus. Ann Voskamp - Unwrapping the Greatest Gift.

Today I'm grateful for;
1) This random WhatsApp group that feels so exciting.
2) Photographing someone from the ES church and her loving her photo.
3) The new Lectio for Families app.
