Lapwing

It was so cold this morning that even with gloves on my hands were painfully sore …… reminds me of my hockey playing days at school when hands, knees, ears and nose looked as if they had been painted red.

I spotted the Lapwings on the wooden landing stage up at the Heritage Park.  Only four today, in previous years there have been more than a dozen. If the loch freezes over completely the lapwings will fly out to the centre of the loch and just stand there for ages.

Only one circuit today as it was just too cold ….. a walk round the supermarket helped to keep my step count up but not as high as I would have liked.
