Sleeping Seal Pup

I didn't go looking for grey seal pups on Flotta, but saw quite a few. This one was not aware of my presence and I was on a cliff quite high above, shooting through a notch in the cliff edge which hid me from its mother and the other seals. I was there to count geese, an Orkney-wide event every few years. I saw about 244 greylags, the commonest species, but also a flock of over 300 barnacle geese, the biggest flock I have seen of that species in Orkney (extra). Other birds included red grouse (not very common here) hen harrier, short-eared owl, ravens, rafts of great northern diver and long-tailed ducks etc.
