Still Standing....

...and intact!

Maggie and I got through our first day with the Christmas tree without incident...which is a cause for celebration in itself....Next step will be adding the tree skirt which, in the past, has been a magnet for frolicking...but I am pleased with Maggie's behaviour so far... and will worry about the tree skirt challenge tomorrow ...

We had a quiet day today, lounging by the tree...Maggie snoozing while I  was reading the Sunday paper, working on the crossword, going through knitting patterns, and chatting with family on the phone...

My one big accomplishment of the day was solving - at least temporarily - that issue of the left-over box of Christmas balls from yesterday..

Evie11 posted a really good idea...put them in a glass bowl and use as a centrepiece...perfect!  Well, I did not have a glass bowl big enough, but did find a substitute and it worked just fine! (see extra) They may eventually end up going to the Salvation Army, but not yet!

Now, to keep the cat off the dining room table - she could make a real mess if she started batting at those balls...but as I said, she has really been behaving herself today....and yes, Maggie does get up on the table... she is more agile than she looks..She thinks I don't know, but see those scratches on the table? You don't have to be a tracker to know those are  CAT scratches...

PS: Thanks loads, Evie...fingers crossed that the bowl of balls will still be intact tomorrow morning!
