English Bridge and United Reformed Church

A safe journey from a Manchester to Shropshire where we’re staying with my cousin for a few days visiting various relatives.

Chris was in various meetings and events the remainder of this week so we took our leave, us by car and the former Mrs T by train. The weather was typical Manchester: driving rain and cold. We headed for Stoke to call in at the Emma Bridgewater pottery factory. Little was open so we settled for a coffee and a look around the shop.

We were planning to call in at Fordhall Farm between Market Drayton and Tern Hill to visit the organic farm and shop. Closed on Mondays! Instead we drove on to Shrewsbury for a stroll around the Quarry, along the banks of the Severn and up into the town retracing steps I’d taken many times on visits to the town over the decades.

By the time we reached Shrewsbury the foul weather had gone elsewhere and we were rewarded with some golden late afternoon sunshine which lit up the English Bridge over the river.

Thank you all once again for visiting and leaving comments while we’re on our travels. Pleased you enjoyed yesterday’s selection. I was tempted to make the pier shot the main choice!
