A Great Day For Ducks

Wet sleet plopped onto the plastic bag covering my camera, one handle around the lens, the other side held tightly around the viewfinder. Drips found their way down the back of my neck as I tried to focus and concentrate on making a photograph. I had already missed a heron and was determined to capture the ducks. I have never seen them so late in the year, well I suppose the water is usually frozen over by now.

A soft image, from camera shake, softened further by sleet and low light, shutter too slow to keep the birds sharp, but it encapsulates the day, the moment and the experience.
