Sucking up? Or diplomacy?

At Cubs Ella aged 9 was asked to write about who she would like to thank. This was her response. A diplomatic one I think.

She did start at Brownies but (a) they had nothing going on line during lockdown and (b) Nathaniel goes to Beavers so #3 daughter thought it would be easier if Ella went to Cubs which happens at the same time. She said she’d give it a go and discovered others from her class went so she’s happy with the change. She also likes the adventure stuff they do. I’m glad she appreciates that people are volunteering to give them such an interesting experience. She had her induction ceremony a few weeks ago when she chose not to do the god bit of the promise. I think it was quite brave to stick out from the crowd as only 3 others did the same. I’m glad Cubs are inclusive now and non-Christians are helped to feel welcome.

Storm Barra has just arrived. So far it is a strong wind banging sleet against the window. I’m sure snow will be lying higher up.

Katy messaged at 11pm last night to say their power was back after 10 days. I think nearly everyone in the northeast of England has been restored. I hope the engineers are able to return safely to Wales and Ireland which is from where a lot had been brought in before they are needed again.

Respect to the FO whistle blower re their negligence or incompetence or both when it came to the Afghan evacuation.
