Storm Barra

Well, it arrived as forecast. What a wild day here. It was a big tide at 5.32m so add strong wind to that and you get a mess.
The sea has been incredibly wild, with houses along the shore here, and in Anstruther, flooded, despite their sandbags.
I know the photos are poor quality but there was just water everywhere.
In the bottom photo the water was hitting the sea wall, then just exploding over it causing a deluge of water to land on any vehicle passing. It was really quite scary, because of the noise of the water landing on the car, and because you can’t see a thing but water for a few seconds.
At least the car has had a good wash.
The streets will need to be cleared tomorrow because the waves have brought bricks, wood and all sorts of debris on top of the seaweed you would expect.
Geordie and I attempted a walk this morning, but didn’t get very far. The wind was far too strong and the sleet was stinging my face too much to walk far.
At least we didn’t get a power cut.
