The Last Rose of Autumn

This rose has seen better days, a bit like myself, but we have cohabited for so long, I feel guilty consigning it to the bin, so it remains stuck in a jar.

What a cheerless day it has been today. Storm Barra has seen to it that it never got properly light . On a positive note, we have not had high winds or snow, just the occasional drizzle out of a leaden sky.

It was a welcome interlude in the gloom when two cycling friends popped in for a cuppa this afternoon and gave me their news.
‘Popping in’ has gone out of fashion since Covid, but it would be lovely if it came back sometime soon.
