A Poor Guided Walk

This morning I went for a very poor guided walk at Cley. It was supposed to be a 3 mile walk lasting up to 2 hours covering certain subjects. In reality it was a 1 mile walk, the subjects were barely discussed and the guide talked to the group for I'd estimate less than 15 mins total. We must have spent at least 45 mins just standing still looking out across the marshes - I neither paid for a bird watching session, nor wanted one, didn't have my binoculars and wasn't dressed for just standing still for so long. On the walk back I left the group looking at nothing much yet again and got back 10 mins before they did. This afternoon I drafted a complaint email, but the website and events booklet didn't have an email address to send it. I rang the visitor centre 22 times, but no-one answered the phone which cuts off after a minute of ringing. The most annoying thing is this was a special event costing nearly 4 times the normal cost of the guided walk with a special speaker, yet was easily the worst by far that I'd attended there. Not happy! The photo is of a seal by the shore.

Congratulations to Boris on the birth of his baby girl, perhaps he'd like to consider spending a lot more time with his young kids!

Day 633 / Day 144 of Step 4 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
249 new cases of Omicron in the UK were reported today, bringing the total to 817. 50.867 new daily cases were reported. The Health Secretary said at the current doubling rate, we could hit c1m Omicron infections in the community throughout the UK by the end of December. A Director of the UCL Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care says 'much more severe restrictions' may need to return to tackle Omicron. A member of Independent SAGE also says Plan B doesn't go far enough. A SAGE sub-group says the Omicron peak of infections could be much larger than in Jan 21, with 1,000 hospitalisations a day from Omicron alone. The probe into the Downing St party will now consider three 'gatherings'. Bizarrely the Met Police will not look investigate the alleged party due in part to an 'absence of evidence' - how is that possible with people saying 40-50 people attended??? Cummings is saying that the focus should be on a party in the PM's flat on 13th Nov 2020 - not covered by the probe. In a poll for Sky News, only 9% of people thought a Downing St party did not take place. Raab and Gove are self isolating, Shapps is awaiting a PCR test result.
