Gratitude

Strava Day 193/75 Hard Off Phase Day 11. Outdoor workout, three liters and reading done. Am blipping a little later but am grateful that today, I challenged myself to nix a few bad habits and although there is resistance, am proud to have accomplished several small tasks with focus. Also, am grateful for the consistent calm mood I have this past week. Reading before going outside appears to be beneficial as it helps ground me.

Came across a part of Holiday's Ego is the Enemy wherein he encourages the reader to immerse in nature and do everything possible to connect with the cosmos as a way to remind ourselves that we are just but a dot in the scheme of timelines (past, present, future). Every thing we have experienced or are experiencing is either similarly being experienced by someone else somewhere or someone in the past. He recommends to "actively seek out cosmic sympathy."

Was considering to go uphill again today but saw the warm colours of the sky in the other direction and thus initially walked towards it. Lingered in a spot for about a few minutes and was tempted to just stay there and get a "safe shot" of the sky. Decided to walk a bit further and this scene(s) happened to be captured while I was framing the highway and the sky. As there are 13 images with the 5:55 timestamp, I chose to blend one with a "story" and another one with a little more color in Snapseed's double exposure tool. After all these years, one thing has remained, seeing couples (especially the older ones) walking side by side/hand in hand in streets makes my heart smile.
Here's to you finding light in your day. Have a good one!
