Sisters

We drove over the border for lunch with my oldest friend Jenny who was staying with her sister. It was Elspeth’s 78th birthday so Jenny had made her a cake.

It was so lovely to see them both - the First Minister recommends only 3 households getting together and we all did LFT before meeting up. (Covid cases are 88000 today).

We realised we’d not been to Elspeth’s since her 70th party, since when she cared for her partner who eventually died of dementia. She’d also been busy looking after gRandchildren, as we have, plus working 2 days a week as a social work advisor.

Just as well we’d not booked a ski holiday in France as we are no longer allowed in. Poor Katy is waiting to hear if her son can come from Germany. (Or more likely be allowed back there from the Covid capital of the world). His Romanian wife and her family were also coming for Christmas. I do feel for Katy as her daughter lives in New Zealand.
