Christmas tree on Dove Crag

A few years ago the land managers of the Simonside moorland removed the wilding fir tree which locals always decorated at Christmas time. (It wasn’t environmentally appropriate). There was quite a fuss as they hadn’t known about the tradition.Since this little one appeared it had been left alone and again we have the prayer flags and assorted baubles on Dove Crag. As it was a sunny morning we drove to Lordenshaws and climbed up from there, the Simonside wood end car park being closed since storm Arwen.

In the afternoon I tried to get to grips with my new knitting project. I had to wind the wool hanks using a chair back into balls. For some reason they were in as big a bumbling mess as our PM on PM. I wondered when Ruth Davidson (Baroness) would be twisting the knife. She didn’t hold back.
