A special Christmas card

Featuring today is the beautiful Christmas card that Violet made in school yesterday and gave especially  to me.  I have given it a place of honour on the hall mantelpiece where it cannot be missed.  I'm honoured!
In other news: Boris Johnson once again addressed the nation from 10 Downing Street amid rising cases of the Omicron variant,  There were none of the feared further restrictions but rather an urgent plea for us all to get a booster and those who've not been vaccinated at all to come forward now.  Chris Whitty was there this evening to back him up and urge us all to prioritise our social engagements this Christmas.  We have not seen the Chancellor of the Exchequer for some time now and it seems unlikely that the mandatory closing of businesses will happen now that financial support has effectively been withdrawn.
